rtsea Gallery of Photography presents Shen Jian Hua's "Buddha in Sunglasses:" an exhibition that explores human culture through objects from both nature and modern-day concepts. Shen juxtapose layers of multi-faceted connotations through his images. From afar one can see traditional calligraphy in his work while at a closer glance it appears to be hanging vines. In another work one can see 60 skulls symbolizing death and horror but at second look these are 60 different Buddha's heads wearing sunglasses covering Buddha's emotional tears for the lost of many lifes in Bei Chuan's earthquake. Shen is not a conventional photographer, he uses the medium as a unique way of expression and has developed a unique poetic style. Buddha in Sunglasses will present
